Sponsorship Opportunities and Benefits
Creative Opportunities Unlimited is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation. We seek both corporate and private funds to finance our support of teams and team members participating in the Odyssey of the Mindâ School Program.
How can your sponsorship help?
Your sponsorship could be in any amount or for any aspect of the program…for example:
- Academic scholarships given by COU to team members
- Grants given to deserving teams to help defray the cost of attending World Finals
- Sponsorship, in cooperation with Creative Competitions, Inc., creators of the Odyssey of the Mindâ School Program, of an entire Odyssey of the Mindâ problem
(A vehicle company might sponsor the vehicle problem, or a construction company might sponsor the structure problem. However, there is no restriction as to the type of problem your organization might consider underwriting. All arrangements for problem sponsorship would be made in concert with Creative Competitions, Inc. )
Other avenues of support are possible. We welcome creative partnerships! You will be helping some of the world’s brightest young minds have opportunities…yes, Creative Opportunities…UNLIMITED.
How sponsorship benefits your organization;
Perhaps the most outstanding benefit COU has to offer, in exchange for your support, is the exposure of your company and its products to the most talented and creative young people in the world! This exposure can take many different forms, including, but not limited to:
- Recognition in Odyssey of the Mindâ publications as a program sponsor
- High profile exposure at World Finals, including exhibit space in which to display your company’s logo, banners, handout materials and product samples
For 30 years Odyssey of the Mindâ has challenged young people everywhere to think outside the box, to find new, different and creative solutions to everyday problems. Each year, the program reaches more than 12 million students, from kindergarten through college, in the U.S. and over 25 countries. Of this number, seven to eight thousand will participate in World Finals Competition. Adding coaches, parents, family members and officials, the number attending World Finals will average 18,000 to 20,000, growing annually! Recent World Finals tournaments have been held at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville; Walt Disney Worldâ, Orlando, FL, Iowa State University, Ames, IA; Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI; and the University of Maryland, College Park, MD.
